Lie-Nielsen Australia Toolworks 16oz Round Mallet Myall/Mulga

A beautiful and durable 16oz mallet for your finest work.

This mallet has a Myall head with a handle in Mulga and a brass bead detail.  

The Myall head has a high density and puts more “smack” into less space than rectangular wooden-headed mallets, concentrating power, but protecting the handle of your chisels from grain splits caused by mis-hits. The 16 oz weight and round head allow easy handling, especially when using the mallet to control the chisel angled or horizontally when clearing a groove or creating a knife wall.

Please Note: Myall timber is extremely dense and I am seeing no marks or wear on the head in use, but we use the mallet with Lie-Nielsen chisels which have rounded ends on their handles, these mallets will survive decades of use.

On a personal note, this type of mallet has been my go-to for many years and the most requested by our Wood School students, once you use one there can be no other, it is the greatest pleasure to be able to offer it again. Regards Anthony.
