Covid 19 - year 2020
04 April 2020.....update 22 May 2020
Here at Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia we are working to ensure the safety of our customers during the COVID-19 outbreak. We want to thank you for being a valued Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia customer in this time of uncertainty, and let you know the steps we are taking to minimise this outbreak while supporting you and our hand tools.
Hand Tool Events®, Workshops, School.
It is unlikely we will attend any Hand Tool Events for the remainder of 2020, should any be arranged, as you might see on the web site, there are events still being advertised for Brisbane and Melbourne, the timing of these events are on the cusp of us being allowed to travel...maybe, with the added problem of the quantity of people allowed to congregate, we have left them posted in hope, as there are no fees to be charged, so they will either be on or not, we will let you know.
All remaining school class vacancies will be closed for the rest of the year. If you have bookings already in place, we will be contacting you re change of dates after September or any required refunds.
After September 1st, we are also considering workshops ( one on one ) to accomodate those already booked.
If you live in South Australia we are considering one on one workshops, once these more stringent restrictions are lifted, (soon we hope), ring us if you are interested, but at this time we are still listed as a Non-essential business so we are not permitted to allow entrance to our premisis for any activities.
Also as above we are still listed as a Non-essential business so we are not permitted to allow entrance to our premisis for any activities.
Therefore we have temporarily closed our showroom. If customers wish to pick up tools in our showroom they are welcome to contact us by phone or email and a pickup an be arranged, but we will be unable to demonstrate or show the products.
Manufacturing & Shipping
29 April 2020.... We have noted that deliveries from overseas are becoming severely delayed, in some instances up to 12 weeks. This is the result of the lack of personel both international and domesic, Domestic shipping to you from us is also being affected, but in days rather than weeks (well...sometimes weeks, we can never tell). We would ask for your patience in these troubled times.
As it is deemed a non-essential business,
- Lie- Nielsen Toolworks in the USA although technically closed for the rest of April 2020, (by government order), they are carefully with very limited staff, attempting send us some stock, they will notify us as to stock shipped as and if it happens. We have had a manifest of goods we have on order coming from the USA, apart from some books practically nothing is coming yet, there are large back orders raised, but production although active now, will be some time before goods begin to flow.
- Blue Spruce closed
- Auriou Closed
- Starrett Closed
- Knew Concept. We have no stock left, we do have now two good stock orders in place, one since the beginning of March, neither have reached Australia yet.
- Aime Ledin Closed
- Lost Art Press not sure at this moment.
At the moment Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Australia has stock and can continue to ship tools in a timely manner. Please note …. that as tools become unavailable you will not be able to buy them from the web site. If you have something "out of stock" in your cart and you cannot proceed to check out, click the X next to the item to remove it, and proceed to checkout. Then if you wish to order something we have run out of, please ring us, and we will note what you want as an unpaid order (we can only do this over the phone), and contact you when ordering from the USA recommences, this will be important as the reordering will be first come first served.
If you don’t have one, it might be best to obtain a catalogue.
Our customer service hours and contact information remain unchanged at the moment. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions regarding your hand tools at 0418 842 974 between 9am and 4pm Monday through Friday. We can also be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Due to the evolving nature of this crisis, we encourage you to contact us with any questions about ordering or our hours. It is our priority to ensure that you feel comfortable and safe shopping with us, and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the health of our customers.
Thank you for your support.
