Flush Cut Saw

Flush Cut Saw

We all have need for cutting flush to a flat surface (trimming dowels, through tenons).

A flush cut blade then, has to extremely flexible and leave a very smooth cut without scratching the material next to piece being trimmed.  They should have a long handle for control and leverage, to enable flexing of the blade and pressure to the surface. The Japanese pull saw blade aptly has all these characteristics, as well as being replaceable, as hardened glue will inevitably dull the teeth.

They are an important tool, and one that will be in your hand often.

Tip.....( if you absolutely must cut that dowel or tenon before the glue dries, ensure you use hide glue, you can then wash the glue residue from the teeth of the blade with hot water!! ).
