Shavehorse

Two 3/4” socket wretches will be necessary for assembly.

Bolts: (1) 4 3/4 ” for front legs; (1) 6 7/8” for rear legs; (1) 8 ¼” for Treadle Post.

To Assemble:

Place the shave horse body upside down on the floor or a bench.

Insert the legs and bolt securely in place.

Stand shave horse up, slip the treadle post under the front leg and bolt inplace.

Place the seat on the stretchers, put the t-block under the stretchers and lock with handle-nut.

Insert lower jaw assembly into the mortise and lock with ratchet lever lock.

Adjust the seat to your liking and enjoy your shave horse (the seat may be upholstered for comfort).

Shave horses are finished with a 50/50 combination of turpentine and linseed oil. They should be re-oiled once or twice a year.

Note: it is important not to get oil on the lower jaw post or in the mortise it slides in. These areas should be waxed.
